Aishwarya Rai – From Miss World to Mrs. Bachchan
You would think that life would be a bed of roses for a beautiful smart girl like Aishwarya Rai. This is not the case, life is not easy and Aishwarya Rai’s life too was like any other human life. She struggled and she struggled very hard to survive and achieve the success. Not only on professional grounds, where she rose to the fame from a fashion model turned actress to India’s number one actress.
As we all know that in order to succeed in bollywood as an actress, one must master the bollywood dance skills. Another thing which many people don’t know is that in order to get to the level of A class bollywood stars one also need to improve their Hindi accent and to correctly pronounce Urdu words.
Aishwarya learnt how to dance, her Hindi was not too bad but she quickly improvised it. Her polite ways and humbleness won the hearts of professionals that worked with her on the sets. She won Saroj Khan one of the best choreographers of India. Saroj later choreographed many of Aishwarya’s songs specially Niboda for the movie â??Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. The song was an instant hit and Aishwarya successfully changed people’s perception about her that she is a “Fashion Model turned Actress”. Now she was the typical Bollywood heroine with all the dancing and acting skills necessary to succeed in the business.
While Aishwarya’s career was taking new turns her personal life was also facing new challenges. She got romantically involved with Salman Khan. It was a bad move, Salman Khan was known in the bollywood for beating his girlfriends and acting like a possessive jealous boyfriend. Aishwarya Rai thought that she can manage that too, but sometimes no matter how tactful you are, failure is unavoidable.
In the beginning Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai’s relationship was all wonderful. Media loved the couple as they were the most loved actors of Indian Film Industry; this made them the most popular couple of India. Salman Khan has always had a very difficult relationship with the press; on the other hand Aishwarya Rai was very good at maintaining good PR with Media. The Media tried to follow them everywhere.
Then Salman Khan started acting all possessive and jealous and Aishwarya Rai thought that she can handle him. Eventhough Salman always had bad press relationship and Aishwarya never publicly acknowledged her relationship with Salman Khan, he now wanted her to acknowledge their relationship. Aishwarya was reluctant she thought it would make Salman act more possessive and controlling, but Salman Argued that it will strengthen their relationship. The argument became a fight and then came Vivek Oberoi.
Aishwarya Rai never talked to media about this but it was rumored that Salman man handled her, slapped her and tried to break in to her house. Aishwarya Rai’s brother filed a police complain for that. After a few weeks of tension Aishwarya Rai got rid of Salman Khan.
Vivek Oberoi was a young actor with a single mediocre hit film on his credit. Aishwarya Rai and Vivek became good friends but Vivek thought they are more than something. Media also started projecting their non-existent romantic relationship. What nobody knew at that time was that Aishwarya Rai is actually seeing Abhishek Bachchan, an actor himself and son of the legendary filmstar Amitabh Bachchan. While media kept feeding people stories about a relationship between Aishwarya Rai and Vivek Oberoi, Aishwarya Rai got engaged to Abhishek Bachchan.
This came as a surprise to many, she was one of the most talented and most successful Indian actresses. In bollywood marriage is synonymous to the end of career especially for actresses. Aishwarya Rai announced her engagement and got married on 20 April 2007. She also proved the media wrong and she is still successful at box office and her career is still moving to new heights.
