Aishwarya and Abhishek are shooting in the deep jungle of Kochi for Mani Ratnam’s Ravana. Shooting in a situation where poisonous snakes and leeches move around is a tough job indeed. On the first day of the shoot, Ash was bitten by a leech; she came to know about the bite only when she started bleeding. Apart from leeches, snakes also infested the jungles. “There were seven to eight foot long snakes that would be present on the sets. Mani had got a local snake catcher who would protect the crew from any poisonous reptiles,” says a source.
The cast and the crew are having a tough time shooting in the jungle. Everyday they need to cover extra miles on foot through kuccha rasta to reach the shooting spot. They were put up in a hotel which is two hours from the shooting location. An open thatch was built in the jungle where a major scene between Ash and Abhi was shot.
Sources from the sets reveal, “The shoot of the film would start before dawn, sometimes at 3 am. The jungles we shot in were so dense that sunlight would rarely break through even during the day. Artificial lighting was used even during daytime.”
Everyone is having a rough time shooting for Ravana. Everyday they need to fight against leaches, snakes and other dangerous creatures to reach the shooting spot.
The duo will reportedly shoot a romantic scene inside a Benz car that has cost the producers a whopping Rs. 1 crore.
“Love scene ke liye kuchh bhi karega,” seems to be the mantra of the producers of ‘Endhiran’ (previously titled Robot ) who have loosened their purse strings to have a top model of Benz imported solely for a love song between Aishwarya Rai and Rajnikant , the lead actors of the sci-fi thriller.
The film was recently being shot at Vellore Institute of Technology in Tamil Nadu and now the shooting location is set to shift to Kullu-Manali, the hilly towns of Himachal that are presently at the peak of winter.
It is also learnt that Rajnikant has been undergoing special facial treatment and massages to look younger in the film. The 58-year-old star plays double role – a scientist who creates a robot in his mirror image. Rajni plays both the scientist and the robot.
Wonder where the love angle fits in the story! On top of it a romantic song that has Rajni cuddling up with Ash inside a car in the wintery climate.

Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming project will surely be a treat for the international markets, literally. The film is being made in English and stars Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
Sanjay Bhansali, even after the flop of his last flick ‘Saawariya’, is in his high spirits with his film-in-the-making. Bhansali said, ‘I am directing another film with Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. I am very excited about this project and so is my team.’
When asked about making his film in English, Bhansali said, ‘I know it is important to make films for our market but it’s the time when our cinema should reach the remotest corner of the world. Languange is hardly any barrier today and it is not the first time that I am making a film in English. ‘Black’ was in English too.’
The director has done amazingly well with Aishwarya in his last two films ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’. Let’s see, whether the team will be able to make a hattrick!
